About MobiBench

MobiBench is a free Android app that measures your phone's CPU and GPU performance with timed benchmark tests of about 60 seconds each, plus live system monitoring.

Why it exists

A phone's spec sheet doesn't tell you how it actually performs when it's under load and warming up. MobiBench was built to answer that question on your own device: run a timed test, watch what happens, and get a result that reflects that run.

What's in the app

  • CPU stress test: about 60 seconds of computationally intensive work that measures processing performance and temperature, with live CPU usage and temperature graphs and a CPU score.
  • GPU test: about 60 seconds rendering and animating a detailed 3D brain-hologram model, reporting FPS, minimum, maximum and average FPS, frame time, temperature, peak temperature and a GPU score.
  • System monitoring: live readings of the app's CPU usage, GPU frame rate and frame time, RAM usage and device temperature.
  • Device information: model, Android version, RAM, CPU logical cores and GPU, plus GPU hardware details (renderer, vendor, graphics API) in the GPU test.

How it measures

Measured, not looked up

Scores come from the work your device completes and the frames it renders during a test. MobiBench never picks a score from the device name, model or brand.

N/A instead of guesses

Some readings, such as per-app GPU utilization, aren't exposed on every Android device. When there's no legitimate measurement, the app shows N/A rather than estimating.

Honest about heat

Benchmarks put sustained load on the device, and that produces heat. The app tells you so before the CPU stress test starts.

About this website

This website is a showcase for the Android app. It doesn't run any benchmarks in your browser; every test runs inside MobiBench on your phone. The app is free to download on Android.
